Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park- Distance: 140 km

Start with Tarangire game drives post-breakfast, exploring its 3000 sq km expanse. Known for elephants, baobabs, Tarangire River meanders through. Dry season (June – Nov) showcases wildlife gatherings, akin to Serengeti, as animals flock to river. Varied habitats, permanent water, 2000 elephants, 500 bird species. Depart for Kizumba Campsite, Lake Manyara, dinner, overnight.

Tarangire National Park Highlights:

  • Elephants: Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds. Watching these majestic creatures roam freely is an unforgettable experience.
  • Baobab Trees: The park’s landscape is dotted with ancient baobab trees, which create a dramatic and picturesque backdrop.
  • Birdlife: Home to over 550 bird species, including the vivid yellow-collared lovebird and the striking Kori bustard.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park- Distance: 205km

After breakfast Depart Mto wa mbu, and drive to Central Serengeti via Ngorongoro. Lush plains, ancient ecosystem, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, giraffes. Prime spot for dozing lions, thrilling hunts. Seronera Campsite, dinner, overnight..

Serengeti National Park Highlights:

  • The Great Migration: Depending on the time of year, witness the awe-inspiring migration of wildebeests and zebras.
  • Big Cats: The Serengeti is famous for its high density of lions, as well as cheetahs and leopards.

Day 3: Central to Northern Serengeti- Distance: 150km

Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. Witness the abundant wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.

Serengeti National Park Highlights:

  • Predator Sightings: Look out for lions on the prowl, cheetahs sprinting after prey, and leopards lounging in trees.
  • Vibrant Ecosystem: The Serengeti is home to a multitude of animals including elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and crocodiles.
  • Balloon Safari: Optionally, take a hot air balloon safari at dawn for a unique perspective of the wildlife and landscapes below.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro.

After breakfast, have a half-day Serengeti game drive, then after lunch, we will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, a drive of approximately 3 hours (200 km). Enjoy a 4-5 hour game drive in the crater.

Ngorongoro Crater Highlights:

  • Big Five: Encounter lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, and leopards in this unique ecosystem.
  • Diverse Wildlife: The crater floor is teeming with life, including zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and a variety of bird species.

After breakfast descend into Ngorongoro Crater, we will spend the day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater with morning and afternoon game drives.
